This song was writed by Tracy Chapman on 1988, during the Cold War. Is considered a Marxist song for his lyrics, In this Tracy Chapman is trying to change the things, change the world because she thing that has to change. Why? Because the people, the mankind, the society is so unjust with the poor people, the classified them like a poor or rich people and discriminates them by treacting them in very differents ways. 

She relates a portrait for all this people, because the other people that doesn't do this, has right to live a better life, but they don't let them to do it. She making reference to "the bougrgeoise", and she say "run" to them because the poor class is going to take command and the things are going to be different.
